Overview

InCol Intelligence has been developed by InCol Limited, an affiliate of Somers Limited, an international financial services investment holding company with shareholders’ funds of €298 million. InCol is also backed by Enterprise Ireland, the Irish state agency supporting the growth of internationally focused Irish companies.

The InCol team brings deep experience across lending, treasury, capital markets, financial technology and banking. This combination of financial and technical expertise has shaped InCol Intelligence as a loan-level analytics platform built for regulated financial institutions, investors, funders and capital markets participants.

The platform was originally developed to support the analysis of mortgage portfolios for secured funding transactions. It has since evolved into a broader financial intelligence platform, validating, enriching and analysing loan-level data across credit, collateral, climate, valuation, regulatory reporting, funding and capital management.

Technology-First

InCol Intelligence is a proprietary, cloud-native analytics platform built from the ground up for loan-level financial analysis.

Its architecture combines automated data validation, portfolio analytics, third-party data enrichment, Riva AI and repeatable reporting within a single environment.

Riva AI provides a natural-language interface to the underlying portfolio, enabling authorised users to interrogate data, investigate exceptions and concentrations, and move from high-level questions to the supporting loan-level evidence.

The platform integrates with leading external data providers to support analysis across credit risk, collateral valuation, climate exposure and regulatory reporting.

Scalability and Infrastructure

InCol Intelligence is built on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure and designed to handle financial data at loan-level granularity.

The platform operates within the AWS cloud environment and supports secure, scalable deployment across multiple portfolios and institutional use cases.

Its architecture enables integration with independent third-party data providers, including property, valuation and climate data sources, while API-driven workflows support efficient connectivity with existing systems.

The modular design allows new analytical capabilities, data sources and reporting requirements to be incorporated without disrupting the underlying platform or data structure.

Paul Somers, CEO

Paul’s career spans banking, credit, treasury, capital markets and structured finance.

Before founding InCol, he worked with Collins Stewart, specialising in hybrid capital origination for European financial institutions and in corporate and bank debt advisory. Prior to that, he was Director of Treasury at Anglo Irish Bank and held business development and corporate banking roles at Smurfit Paribas Bank, having started his career with IDA Ireland.

Paul also founded DFinitive Capital, which connects Irish housing associations with institutional debt capital markets.

He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, where he earned a B.A. (Mod) in Mathematics.

Frank Wall, CCO

Frank’s career spans treasury, capital markets and financial services, with experience at AIB Finance & Leasing, Anglo Irish Bank, Structured Credit Company and GoldCore.

As Co-Founder of InCol, Frank led the complete rebuild of InCol Intelligence in 2022 as product owner and technical sponsor. Working closely with the engineering and data teams, he continues to shape the platform’s architecture, data model, analytical capabilities and user workflows, combining financial-market experience with hands-on product development.

Frank is a graduate of University College Cork, where he earned an M.A. in Economic History.

Atul Thakker, CTO

Atul is an experienced banking technology and integration architect with a background in core banking, enterprise integration and digital transformation.

He has held leadership roles with Oracle Financial Services Software, Wipro and AnTuras, delivering core banking and integration programmes for institutions including AIB and the Reserve Bank of India.

At InCol, Atul leads the technology architecture and development of InCol Intelligence, with responsibility for platform integration, scalability and the continued evolution of its cloud-based infrastructure.

Atul holds a B.Com from the University of Mumbai and a diploma in Computer Programming from NCC-UK. He is also a Google Cloud Certified Associate Engineer and Certified Scrum Master.

Rahul Muggalla

Rahul is an AI Engineer specialising in generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering and applied machine learning.

His work focuses on developing practical AI applications using generative AI, natural language processing and intelligent automation, translating emerging AI capabilities into usable solutions for real-world business requirements.

Ronan White

Ronan’s financial services career spans treasury, capital markets, investor relations, corporate lending, communications and compliance.

Prior to InCol, he held roles with National Australia Bank in London, Anglo Irish Bank in Dublin and London, the Woodchester Group, part of GE Capital, and AIB.

Ronan also works with InCol’s sister company, DFinitive Capital, which originates capital markets funding for Ireland’s social and affordable housing sector.

He is Non-Executive Chairman of Moneycorp Technologies Limited, the Irish regulated subsidiary of Moneycorp Group, and a Non-Executive Director of Deutsche Leasing (Ireland) DAC.

Ronan is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, having trained with KPMG. He is a graduate of University College Dublin with a B.Com and holds the FT Non-Executive Director Diploma.
